WHO IS AT RISK FOR FALLS?

According to the CDC, more than one third of adults 65 and older fall each year in the US and nearly a third of those people will suffer moderate to severe injuries. There are a number of reasons why people fall each year including spinal stenosis, peripheral neuropathy (lack of feeling in your feet) caused by diabetes, and leg weakness. The main goals of treatment are to increase strength, improve balance, and provide home safety education to reduce the risk for falling.
